Ruby Pittman

Person
Biography
"Ruby’s love for dance and arts administration began in Southern California with
classical and contemporary dance training at Orange County School of the Arts
and Long Beach Ballet. With the leadership and artistic influence of Steven Hyde,
Gracie Whyte, Jessica Chen, Alesia Young, Heather Robles, Heidi Latsky, David
Wilcox, Joyce Theater coworkers, as well as family, friends, and countless
teachers, her passions have grown exponentially. As a rising junior at New York
University’s Tandon School of Engineering and an incoming Archives/Audience Engagement
intern at Jacob’s Pillow, she is a proponent for creating collaborative opportunities
for others and sharing knowledge, ideas, and action in the world of dance. If she
were a full-evening length work, her bill would definitely include Karole
Armitage’s Three Theories, Barak Marshall’s And at midnight, the green bride
floated through the village square..., and Trisha Brown’s Groove and Countermove."
