Teresa Eldred Hill Wimberley was born in 1949 in Baltimore, where she studied ballet at Peabody Conservatory of Music under Carol Lynn (a former Denishawn student who directed the Pillow's School for many years). Teri performed with the Baltimore Civic Opera and studied at the Pillow with Margaret Craske and others in 1963 and 1964. She later trained with the National Ballet in Washington and Harkness Ballet in New York. She joined the companies of Stuart Hodes and Margot Colbert, and returned to the Pillow in 1971 as a member of Lar Lubovitch's company in their first appearance here. She later taught dance in California and Alaska, and began a massage practice. She moved to Oregon with photographer John Wimberley after their marriage in 1990. Only a couple of years after her final dance performance, she died peacefully in their Ashland home in July 2011.
