Description:
Examples of several varieties of traditional Korean dance, starting with court dance. The translator names and describes dance steps while Kim demonstrates them. Next, Kim demonstrates steps from folk dance and dance drama. At the end of the program Kim performs a solo based on aspects of shamanism. Thom Molinaro presents a one-man show including anecdotes about his theatrical career, songs and mime. Molinaro discusses auditioning for Call me madam and La cage aux folles; meetings with Lena Horne; working at the Metropolitan Opera. He sings "He loves me," "Little boy blue," "Where or when," "Blues in the night," and "Carousel." He performs two mime pieces, the first set to an excerpt from Vivaldi's Four seasons, the second titled The kite.
