A purple cotton dress/robe stenciled with red and gold. Most likely worn by Ruth St. Denis in an unknown work, possibly Dance of Theodora.
Item Details:
A long floor length robe/dress with a high neck and long sleeves. The collar and cuff are trimmed with gold braid. The whole dress is stenciled with gold and red flowers and decorative details around the hem and cuffs. There is a split down the center back seam revealing a panel of dark burgundy crepe. The robe is fragile and has been patched.
