Description
Work created in residence at Jacob's Pillow. Pierrot returns to the city where he once knew joy and love only to find it deserted and ruined. In memory he sees again the light in the window and once again serenades his love. The light goes out, reality returns, and desolate he wanders off into oblivion--forgotten myth (from 1941 program).
