Description:
Black silk sari. Possibly worn by Ruth St. Denis in a revival of The Dance of the Black and Gold Sari.
Item Details:
Long piece of black silk georgette gathered and pleated in two places. The sari is trimmed with gold lamé, the end of the veil section is trimmed with a deep band of gold lamé fabric. The costume appears relatively unworn and most likely dates from the end of RSD's career.
