Description:
Eleven burgundy Greek style silk crepe dresses with an attached cape/shawl decorated with gold stenciling. Worn by female members of the Denishawn Company in an unknown work.
Item Details:
Each dress consists of a short bodice with a side hook and bar fastening. The knife pleated skirt falls from under the bust to mid calf length. From the shoulder straps is stitched a shawl in the same fabric also decorated with gold hand-painting. The skirt is decorated with a stenciled a lotus blossom pattern in gold. Possibly worn with headdresses C-216_1-6.
