Black patterned full skirt. Worn by Ruth St. Denis in Nautch Dance.Item Details:
A very full black cotton skirt covered in a fine print of pink and yellow with a hook and bar fastening. Gold braid waist band and bands of gold and pink lurex braid around bottom third of the skirt. St. Denis appears to have worn this skirt in the 1940s (and later) for Nautch Dance. It would have been worn with many underskirts (not in the collection).
